LACUNA (NWF Reading)

9 September 2024 8:15PM Old Fitz, 129 Dowling St, NSW, Australia. A$0.00
“Forgetting is a gift.”

Note: this a free staged reading presented as part of the Fitz’s inaugural New Works Festival.

Claudia is used to lying as a way to survive. She's been doing it for years - to her workplace, to her lovers and to her family. But some things you can't talk your way out of it. At the same time, Claudia gets fired from her job, her mother goes missing, and she's visited by a childhood best friend she can't quite remember, propelling her to go on a journey through ever-expanding cracks in time and memory, to the underworld and beyond. Lacuna is an fantastical investigation into Chinese folklore, cultural ritual and capitalism.
